Em noite que marcou a reestreia do Flamengo na Copa Libertadores da América, o Mais Querido não entrou em campo e foi goleado pelo Independiente Del Valle, que não teve dificuldades para superar o Rubro-Negro. Com 5×0 no placar final, o elenco mágico de 2019, que quebrou inúmeros recordes, alcançou uma nova marca e conquistou mais dois títulos: o de maior derrota de um atual campeão, e também do clube carioca, na história da competição.
Desde 1984, quando foi goleado pelo Grêmio por 5×1, o Flamengo não protagonizava uma vergonha tão grande na Copa Libertadores da América. Todavia, na noite desta quinta-feira (17), o Mengo parecia um bando em campo, foi totalmente dominado pelo Independiente Del Valle e não demonstrou nenhuma capacidade de reação.

A derrota mexeu com os ânimos da Maior Torcida do Mundo, que não perdoou a má atuação dos jogadores e nem as escolhas do treinador. Nas redes sociais, a Nação demonstrou toda a sua revolta com o resultado e pediu a demissão de Domènec Torrent, que assumiu o comando do Flamengo no início de agosto.
Após a goleada, o Flamengo continua no Equador para a disputa da Copa Libertadores da América, e volta aos gramados na próxima terça-feira (22), para enfrentar o Barcelona de Guayaquil. O jogo, válido pela quarta rodada da fase de grupos, será disputado no Monumental de Barcelona, às 19h15 (horário de Brasília)

Técnico ridículo e sem moral com esses jogadores que estão caminhando em campo, até derrubarem ele… a panelinha é contra o rodízio e vai ser assim. Essa diretoria menosprezou o técnico do Del Valle que queria vir pro Mengão e já mostrou suas qualidades para apostar nesse desconhecido. Com um time ridículo meteram 5×0. Maior vergonha da história. E tem idiota que foi zoar o Benfica ontem. Hoje demos uma mostra do que vai ser até o próximo ano. Técnico ridículo e jogadores agindo como tal. Tanto dinheiro jogado fora.

Mandem esse técnico/estagiário de volta de onde saiu. Vergonhoso, não sabe nada. Não sabe o que veio fazer aqui. Não conhece a influência da torcida, que pode até não ter força pra ajudar, mas tem os patrocinadores. Não compro mais nada até esse cidadão sair. Sem técnico o time joga melhor. Tem que agir rápido.
